Why is it that a wise man can quiet a room. Just the sound of his voice, silence the souls of many. It is such an incredible phenomenon.

Today in class, Wilbur Williams (a professor in his 80's) came to give us a little piece of his life. As soon as he uttered his first word, my mind shut off the world. I was in his full attention, mouth hanging wide open; complete loss of any control. The wisdom that flowed from this man was insane, like nothing I had ever experienced. Story after story, tale after tale, words of inspiration and Godly challenges continued to overflow from him. Time ran out and class was over. I had not heard enough, I longed for more. I desired answers to difficult questions, more life lessons and observations from his 80 years of life. But time was up.

As I walked back to my room, I thought of all the profound knowledge I had just received.I realized how valuable and rich wisdom is. Wisdom that only comes from the Lord himself. I too desire such strong and powerful wisdom in my life. What a beautiful thing.

Proverbs 8:11-"For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her."

We all finnished ALIVE!! =]

Well since I have been back from Cambodia, God has been working on my heart in many ways. One of the biggest things is God is showing me more of what my future will be.

God has given me a passion for girls who are in or rescued from brothels. Many of these girls are sold or stolen at such young ages. Just within this past month God has revealed to me his plans. I found out about an organization called International Justice Mission (IJM). They are an organization that brings light to those who are facing injustices. They are bringing Christs love and redemption to those who are in such despair. IJM uses lawyers, criminal investigators, and social workers to bring such justice.

Since returning from Cambodia, I had been contemplating the idea of changing my major from Communication Studies to Social Work. I never thought I would be a person to change my major half way through my college career. However, my passion and heart for the injustice of the 2 million children that are forced into prostitution a year, was growing too strong. Every story and chance I heard about getting involved was too overwhelming. I knew that this is what Gods great adventure for my life would entail.

I am super excited about IJM and where my future is leading me. My first step is to finish my degree in Social Work. Then who knows where I will end up...India, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. Wherever God places me I will go.

Life is such a precious gift. Don't miss out on what God is calling you to do. Use your passions to help the world and deliver the good news of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The End.

I love Gods beautiful creation! He has created a world for us to enjoy and discover. I find that through backpacking God shows me this creation in a new light. Backpacking opens up my eyes to the enormous creativity of our Lord.
God has placed a desire for adventure within us all. Go for it!
