It was the morning of January 4. The snow fell as if the day was inside a snow globe. This was the perfect day to go for a sled ride. My brothers, friends and I knew that this was a day of great fun. We hiked up that hill and flew down on those plastic sleds. With that fresh powder snow flying in my face, I felt alive!
Trying bigger and bigger "stunts" was only necessary to keep the thrill going. After building a ramp, we flew in the air, smiling for the camera, then finally returning to the earth. The next biggest thing was going to have to be risky. Standing on the sled and riding down the hill came to mind. My brother sat in front while I was the first standee. We flew down that hill. I stood the entire time, feeling the sense of victory. However once reaching the bottom of the hill, I did not feel so victorious. Rolling to a stop, I fell wrong on my ankle.
A strong pop sensation rushed through my ankle, then the pain came. As I let the pain settle, my brother pulled me to the car and lifted me in. The drive home was sure painful. As soon as we pulled into the driveway my mother laid eyes on me. She knew we had to get to the emergency room right away.
Pulling into the hospital and being escorted in by wheelchair we made our way into the x-ray room. The x-ray came back showing a break in the ankle. This news came sadly, but I knew that God is bigger than any broken ankle! Finding the blessings in all things is my newest goal.

God is DEFINITELY bigger than any broken ankle! I am so proud of you for seeing that & remembering His promise. I know you are going to get discouraged many times about not being able to do many things that you are dying to do, but look at it as a time of REST. It is also probably going to be humbling realizing that you are not going to be able to do everything on your own....BUT that is where I come in to be there right beside you! And of course Jesus is going to be in your heart the entire time reminding you of peace and that it is all going to be OK! I love you Zoey and I love you heart!! I can't wait to see you very very soon! :):)
Ahhh carmen!!! See you sunday! =] love you girl
